When I ran for mayor, I learned our community’s concerns firsthand. You shared them with me at your doorsteps, in parking lots, at community meetings, and over coffee. You told me what keeps you up at night and what would make your life better. Now, I'm ready to take those voices to the State House.
WHY PARK?
All Roads Lead to Raleigh.
Throughout my mayoral campaign, voters raised concerns about issues that were beyond local control. The crumbling infrastructure, the strain on our water systems, the need for better healthcare access, the schools that deserve more support — these issues require state funding, state policies, and state leadership.
After the election, something powerful happened. Neighbors throughout the district — even those outside Hickory’s municipal boundaries who told me they were disappointed they couldn't vote for me for mayor — kept asking: "What's next?"
The issues they raised remain. And I realized that to truly serve the people who believed in me and to reach even more neighbors who need effective representation, I need to take this fight to where these decisions are actually made.
All roads — even the crumbling ones — lead to Raleigh. In the State House, I'll be able to help even more people across District 96 and bring the kind of effective leadership and responsive representation our community deserves. That's exactly why I'm taking our fight to Raleigh.
My goal has always been to serve the public and address our community’s concerns. When I ran for mayor, I learned what our community’s concerns are firsthand. You shared them with me at your doorsteps, in parking lots, at community meetings, and over coffee. You told me what keeps you up at night and what would make your life better.
Now, I'm ready to take those voices to the State House.
Building a Platform Together
In the coming months, I will continue to do what allowed me to truly understand the issues facing us: I will talk to you. I'll meet with neighbors, experts, community leaders, and business owners to ensure this campaign is built around what our district actually needs — not what politicians in Raleigh think we need.
Here's where my platform stands right now:
1. Livability
Our communities deserve infrastructure that works, safe neighborhoods, quality schools, and access to healthcare. I'll fight to bring state resources to District 96 so we can build the kind of place where families want to put down roots and businesses want to grow.
2. Fiscal Responsibility
Your tax dollars should work for you — not for political games or special interests. I'll ensure state spending benefits the people who actually pay for it, prioritizing investments in infrastructure, education, and services that improve your daily life.
3. Responsive Government & Effective Leadership
You deserve a representative who shows up, listens, and gets things done. I believe in bipartisan collaboration when it serves the public good, and I've proven I can work across party lines through my policy work with Young People’s Alliance. But I also know when to stand firm on principle and fight for what's right.
Your Voice Matters
This is where you come in. I want to hear from you. Your input will directly shape my policy proposals and platform. Because at the end of the day, this campaign isn't about me — it's about ensuring House District 96 has a representative in Raleigh who actually listens and fights for what you need.
Reach out. Let's talk. Together, we'll build a campaign — and a future — that works for all of us.
